HOW TO GET:

TRAVELING BY AIR:

We highly recommend using the airport in Pisa – the Galileo Galilei International Airport , code PSA, if you are traveling by air in to join us.  There are flights to Pisa directly from all over Europe and from NYC both with low cost airlines and large/ national airlines.  Once in Pisa you can opt to rent a car, take a cab (it is just a 15 minute drive) or take the train shuttle to the train station, then the bus directly to Marina di Pisa per the instructions below.
Another option is to fly to Florence – the Firenze Peretola Airport, and then from there, either take a shuttle bus to the Airport in Pisa (low cost carriers such as Ryan Air etc. will sell you the discounted bus tickets on the plane or in the arrival area) or you can take the Busitalia bus to center of Florence (www.fsbusitalia.it) and then from the Santa Maria Novella Station the train to Pisa Centrale, and from there the bus to Marina di Pisa. It takes approximately 30 minutes from Peretola Airport to Florence centre and then an hour train ride to the Pisa Centrale station.
If you are flying in to Rome or Milan, take the train to Pisa Centrale then follow the instructions below.

ARRIVING BY CAR

gm  Itinerario con il Navigatore Google Maps

To join us by car from the south or the north on from the Autostrada Roma-Genova A12 exit at “Pisa Centro” then follow directions: Follow for Superstrada Firenze Pisa Livorno (FI PI LI), then take the exit toward Pisa/Tirrenia/Camp Derby. When you come to the intersection, take a left onto Via Livornese, and then take your second left at the triangle next to the basilica. Follow to the roundabout, and take your second right toward Marina di Pisa. The road will run along the Arno river to your right and you will see many boatyards along the way. Continue about 7 km until you reach the roundabout at the north entry to the port. If you are meeting us at the boat, take the first exit and wait for us to give you card access to parking. If you are meeting us at Fuorionda, continue on the second exit, take your first right at the next roundabout, and continue straight until you see the marina parking and the white restaurant structure on your right. Street park here and come join us.

If you are interested in touring Pisa, we recommend that you do it on foot. The center of town is small enough that you can walk from the train station to the main monuments in less than twenty minutes. We also recommend that if you can, the first time you see Piazza dei Miracoli and the Leaning Tower be at night. Its much more suggestive and is considerably less crowded.

ARRIVING BY TRAIN

The Stazione Ferroviaria of Pisa Centrale is well serviced rail hub, on the line to Genova, Milan, Roma, Firenze just to name a few. Take the train to Pisa and then a bus to Marina di Pisa.

ARRIVING BY BUS from Pisa

From the train station, walk to the bus terminal: directly out of the station walk to Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, the large, mostly pedestrian square a block away, then take a left, in the next block you will see the CPT Autobus terminal on your left (If you have extra time, we are fans of the home made ice cream at the small kiosk on the right side of the square called “Bottega del Parco” made with local ingredients from the San Rossore National Park – all their products are excellent). Take the bus line- usually #010 towards Tirrenia. Ask the driver to be let off at the Porto di Pisa. You will see the roundabout and all the masts. Its hard to miss.
